Venaria Reale was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 and was reopened to the public in 2007 thanks to a major restoration project.  In addition to the Royal Palace, one of the most significant examples of Baroque architecture and the Juvarrian Stables, the monumental complex also includes the Chapel of Sant'Uberto, the Fountain of the Deer in the Court of Honour, and fifty hectares of Italian gardens.
